Novel x SXSW

This week I headed to Austin to attend SXSW, and I couldn't think of a better place to be inspired by companies making huge strides in creating social impact, right where they are. A few key highlights:


• The Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth is an initiative within Mastercard that is making it easier for entrepreneurs in developing countries to access cash. By using Mastercard's area of expertise (financial systems), they're expanding their market while providing ways for small businesses to expand with greater access to capital.


SAP is leveraging its wealth of knowledge about supply chains to help consumers become more informed about what they're purchasing and where it's coming from. They've partnered with organizations like Sundar to help businesses make smarter choices when deciding where there products are coming from.


Moonshot CVE is using digital data to help fight extremism online. Moonshot partnered with Google to create alternative content for those seeking violent content through Google's search engine and helping to redirect them to social services or other ways of obtaining help.
